WATERCOLORS, OIL PASTELS AND. . . .

THE LITHOGRAPH EFFECT

(Nothing "weird" about these!)

OTHER THINGS I'VE BEEN DOING

Not everything I do totally distorts the original, sometimes I only play with color, or in these samples with solarize and negative filters. You can get some very surprising results just going to "negative"!

This one is what I call a "raw" image, the negative view. Other filters and tweaks would be done to enhance the color, then the lithograph effect would be added to (actually) soften the view somewhat and at the same time emphasizing certain areas of the image.

"THE POND"

I put this one together piece by piece and element by element. Some components had to be created and others, notable the lily pads were made by modifying and manipulating an image I had of the lily pads on my above groun "pond". My inspiration being my "pond" as well as a acrylic on barn wood folk-art painting I purchased many, many years ago on a trip to visit my sister when she lived in Florida. This one doesn't have the "Water Hyacinth" blooms of the original; perhaps the next one will.
